(February 5, 2026)

👋Greetings, this is Pastor James**.**

I am sending you the first newsletter of 2026!!

In today’s letter, I would like to share two important updates with you.

First, our 2025 financial report. Second, a report from our 10th mission trip, which took place from January 21–29.

Before sharing stories from this recent mission trip, I encourage you to review our financial report through the link below. By God’s grace, in 2025 we received significantly more financial support than in 2024, which allowed us to continue serving children in the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who has supported this ministry.

✅ Our First Mission Trip of 2026 (Jan 21–29, 2026)

  1. Normally, I travel through Punta Cana Airport and head directly to La Romana, where Oasis School is located. However, this time I landed in Punta Cana and immediately took a bus to Santo Domingo, the capital city. I had a meeting scheduled with Pastor Junior Martinez and the Bishop of our denomination in the Dominican Republic, who serves in Santiago. It took three hours from Punta Cana to Santo Domingo, and after staying overnight, another three-hour drive to Santiago. Though the distance is not extremely far, the road conditions make travel challenging.
  2. After two years and three months, I was able to meet the Bishop again. I shared in detail about the ministry that Yours Foundation has carried out over the past two years. He expressed joy and gratitude for the work being done. We will continue to partner with the Free Methodist Church in the Dominican Republic in the years ahead. After our meeting, we enjoyed fellowship together at a Korean restaurant.

  1. After returning to Santo Domingo with Pastor Junior, I preached at Sunday worship and offered a special song. The message was titled “Having One Heart,” focusing on unity and oneness within the church. The church members warmly welcomed me. It truly felt like visiting hometown.
  2. After completing the schedules in Santiago and Santo Domingo, I returned to La Romana, where Oasis School is located. Sitting in my office on campus and hearing the children laughing and running during recess brings me indescribable joy. During this visit, I conducted a teachers’ seminar and preached at Tuesday evening service at Pastor Ysidro’s church.
  3. After completing all ministry activities, I returned to Toronto through Punta Cana Airport. Canada is currently experiencing temperatures below -20°C(−4°F), while the Dominican Republic was a warm and joyful 25°C(77°F). I returned after nine blessed days.

✅ Do you remember the list of needs for Oasis School teachers shared in our last prayer letter?

Amazingly, many of those needs have been met within just three months!

Through support from Yours Foundation and Compassion, many items have been provided. Please continue praying that the remaining needs will also be met.
